Cathie's focus is using wild northern willow to create baskets and non-traditional woven forms. The willow experience has expanded with the use of other fibres and experiments to discover that almost anything can be used to weave. In 2005 she and Astrid had a joint show using clay and fibre at Birchwood Gallery (Yellowknife), sponsored in part by the NWT Arts Council. Cathie teaches workshops in willow, hand-dyed reed, coiling and rush work basketry.
