In the eleven month period from August 15, 2002 to July 20, 2003 I lost three friends to breast cancer; Loraine, Elaine and Brenda. The day after Brenda died, I sat in my backyard where I drew a quick sketch that would in the end result in this quilt. I tried to capture the grief that I felt and witnessed from so many other women through this time frame. I discovered that each woman grieves in her own way.
